Pie Throwing For a Cause Raises $500 for Wendy

Wendy Johnson works in the kitchen in the dish pit. She is going to the Vancouver Special Olympics this August to compete in 5 pin bowling and needs to raise $1000 to help offset her expenses.  Best Western Pembroke Inn wanted to help Wendy. We decided to have a pie throwing contest. Here are some of the images from that day where our executive chef of Westwinds Restaurant and the General Manager of the hotel seemed to be prime targets of the pie throwers.

Honeymoon Suite

This band took the rock n roll scene by storm in 1981. It began with their hit song ‘New Girl Now’ which won Q107’s [Toronto’s most prominent FM rock station at the time] unsigned band contest award. This was their springboard hit into their first band label.

  • Band members include: Derry Grehan (Lead guitar), Johnnie Dee (Guitar) and Randy Cooke (Drums)
  • Most popular songs include: New Girl Now (1984), Bad Attitude (1995), Lethal Weapon (1987), Feel It Again (1995) and Stay in the Light (1984)

Community Event to Help make “The Big Decision”

Dragon’s Den Arlene Dickinson Sets Condition for Esprit Rafting

Best Western Pembroke Inn and Conference attended the Sunset Celebration, held August 7th at Esprit Rafting, to show its support to fellow Tourism Partner Jim Coffey and his staff as they compete in The Bid Decision. Arlene Dickinson was on hand taping for an upcoming episode. The support by both Pembroke and Pontiac communities was overwhelming. We wish them all the best.

Sabstock 2012 Recap

Sabstock Rocks LAURENTIAN VALLEY with 4th Annual Outdoor Concert

The 4th annual Sabstock Rock & Roll Music Festival took place on July 6th, 7th and 8th at the Sabourin Family farm. This year’s event was the biggest and best to date. Over 5,000 people attended the festival this year. They were greeted by fantastic weather, top notch music from Trooper, Toronto, and an amazing display of local talent. Bands such as Darwin Demers, the Paperboys, HinterLand Band, AM Radio and many more helped rock Sab Stock.
